Bec Dundas.
yoga for
every body.
Bec is a passionate yoga practitioner, dance artist and naturopathy student based in naarm. Bec's formative roots in the yoga world emerged in her Bachelor of Dance in 2007 as a young artist, predominantly as a focused tool for injury management, strength building and mindfulness for performance. Guided by Simi Roche in Ashtanga for 3 years, Bec then developed a deeper curiosity to explore other yoga styles and launched into vinyasa flow and hatha at a time where yoga was exploding in Australia.
Beginning with an initial YTT with Body Mind Life in Sydney in 2015, Bec undertook a further 200hr training with Power Living online and a 50hr Yin Training with Anna Martin and Beck Hall. Bec has experienced flowing with communities in Berlin, London, Tasmania, Bali and all across mainland Australia. This broad experience has evolved Bec's aesthetic to incorporate a discipline from Ashtanga and a contemporary modernisation with Vinyasa. What began as a tool for dance has grown to become a lifestyle, a powerful ‘movement is medicine’ mentality and a connection to ancient wisdom and lineage that Bec can share through a modern lens.
Bec's classes are very creative and glittered with mindfulness - weaving playful moments of individual expression and holding space in a grounded connectedness. Bec worked with The Yoga Loft Launceston for 8 years as a teacher and Studio Manager, leading a rebrand and renovation and implementing new systems and marketing developments. Teaching across lutruwita/Tasmania for ten years, Bec led and produced workshops across the island and created a signature offering; “The Connected Yogi” - providing marketing tools to teachers with authenticity and heart.
Believing that yoga is for every-body, Bec's classes are incredibly inclusive, regardless of who you love, how you identify or where you come from. All are welcome. Specialising in yin yoga, restorative slow flow and youth yoga, Bec aims to create a space where people feel safe and inspired.
Bec is also an Australian Arts Leader and Producer - working with major contemporary dance organisations and festivals following a prominent professional dance career and lifetime dedicated to movement.
" Yoga is the dance of the soul, and both practices can be deeply creative and require surrendering into the present moment. One has always informed and interacted with the other and swirl around inside of me freely, making up the practitioner I am today" - BD
Bec is currently based in naarm/Melbourne teaching regular classes at Yoga Spot Fairfield, Kula Yoga Hawthorn and Oshun Yoga Sanctuary. Catch a weekly class through these studios or keep your eye on @sunseeker_yoga IG for pop up classes and workshops.
